With the MMU2S it’s possible to use water-soluble materials, like PVA+ and BVOH, to print the supports or just the 'interface' between the print and the support structure. However, printing solubles can be demanding and requires some considerations along the way. It is a process more suitable for advanced users.
I'm 4h into a 24h print using organic supports, avoid curling overhangs, extra permieters on overhangs and dynamic overhang speed. It's overall only about an hour faster estimated time than it was with 2.5, but the quality due to the overhang changes is a major improvement.If you want long term support (10+ years), reliability and want something that you might need to modify easily in terms of software, stick with C++ (Prusa slicer). I think Cura might have more bells and whistles but I see it will not last in the long run as compared to Prusa slicer in the next 10 years or so of the same software version.RE: organic Support structures. Cura has had tree support for a few years now. Meanwhile, Thomas Rahm has been working on an improvement of tree support that pretty much re-writes the way it works. He made a pull request for Cura that implemented that. Those algorithms have been converted by Prusa to work with Prusa slicer and they renamed it "Organic" support.

Sorry for the semi poor image however my organic supports seem under extruded and I'm not sure why. There's also a pic of my settings. It's an anycubic Kobra neo. I am running prusa slicer alpha 5. The filament is clear pla can't remember band tbh. The walls for the support is definitely under extruding just not sure why.Prusa's organic support are based on the new algorithm (by u/Thomas_Rahm), but they improve it a bit further by making the branches smoother and rounder for stability (which is what makes them "organic"). Jan 7, 2024 · Organic supports. I am very new at 3d printing so I searched for any info on organic supports to make sure this wasn't suggested and I didn't see it anywhere. My organic supports that are tall seem to fail quite regularly. It seems that they aren't stable above a certain height.

I think some supports will always be tough to remove depending on their size and orientation within the print, but the best luck I’ve ever had was with the settings a user shared on the Prusa forums, and many people seem to agree.
