Coolant Leaking out of Overflow Tank--HELP!! Hey i have a 1996 XLT with about 3000 miles on it. I just bought it from a cousin of mine and everything seems to run out fine on it. However, in the few miles i have been able to put on it this early in the season i have noticed leaking coolant coming from the top of my overflow tank.

I have 2 gauges both reading the same, while idling between 170 and 180 it starts puking coolant from the overflow. I have a new 180 thermostat and new 16lb cap and have my electric fan set to come on at 180. It's a 406 and has a Proform Water pump. The only thing I can figure is maybe a bad pump not circulating the coolant.

I would just replace the whole overflow tank and cap in case the tank warped.
