I assumed it was the space heater itself and returned it and got a different one today. This one still doesn't turn on but has the red and yellow buttons on the plug like you'd see in a kitchen or bathroom. And when pressing those the heater turns on for a second then turns right back off. So I'm now convinced it has to do with electrical stuff.
