I bought a RC73 because I don't like the key layout of the regular DIrectv Stream remote. The RC73 works correctly controlling the Directv Stream receiver right out of the box. I'd like to program the RC73 to also control the TV's on/off and volume. I've tried the Sytem/Settings/Remote option but it di not work. Yes it works. But tell your wife give the new remote a chance--she'll get used to it. That RC73 doesn't have a voice button and some of the buttons don't really match with the new box.
