Herb, the answer is yes. There is on the barrel eagle/N (Nitro proof) and eagle/J (= Instandsetzung; repair). According the German gun proof law it was necessary to reproof a gun when a substantial repair was carried out. A new barrel is such a case. The repaired or replaced part of the gun received the eagle/J marking.
