402 posts · Joined 2010. #1 · May 17, 2013. My 3000 tach hasn't worked since I have owned it. Well one time it worked then it plainly stopped. I unhooked the tach cable from the generator and turned it with my fingers, the tach began to go up. Well I knew that was all good so I took off the bottom plate where the tach gear is at on the generator.Poor engine compression - Inspect cylinder block and change worn parts. Engine stops running unexpectedly. Engine has not warmed up to recommended temperature - Warm up the engine. Air in fuel lines - Bleed fuel lines. Improper fuel injection - Fuel injection settings required. You probably have a blockage somewhere. Crack open the line from the filters at the injection pump.
