Maybe FL is suggesting the chassis gets 12mpg. Oh, and make sure you are calculating MPG correctly. ie: miles driven divided by fuel put in the tank.

Empty I get 5.7 - 6.78 mpg. Loaded can be anywhere from mid 4's in the mountains up to 6.23 mpg. Wanted to add.... Over all average loaded has been 5.5 - 5.8 mpg. I run 63 - 65 mph when loaded. 68 - 70 when empty. Speed has probably the biggest impact on mpg when loaded. Much depends on type of load, location and terrain.
