Basically, Kineticist has a lot of good 2A abilities that don't use the attack trait. You want to pair that with a class that has a lot of action freedom. Monk is really good at that because being able to Flurry -> Impulse is very handy. You won't be doing Elemental Blast much, but you'll want to leverage a lot of the 2A impulses.

The problem with finding good archetypes for kineticist is that because of the unique nature of their class (spellcaster without spell slots, spell attacks that kind of scale like weapon attacks but specifically aren't weapon attacks, most of their feats are activities or abilities that demand action investment) it's very difficult to find an archetype that plays nicely with them.
