All you need is to collect a metric ton of thread and spam the fast-forward button when practicing padding clothes w/ sheets. Sew the ripped sheets onto a jacket, remove, sew on again...you get the idea. Once you get a tailoring level, go back to the pile and get more thread (now with a noticeably higher rate of thread) rinse and repeat as many times as you can.
