EHX 720 is easy to use and can save 10 loops. It’s a great tool for writing since you can save ideas. 7. WoJiaoMax. • 3 yr. ago. The ditto loop pedal is my favorite. Only needs one button to loop, re-loop, undo, re-do, super easy to learn and use, and doesn't cost a lot of money, plus it's a small pedal size. A place to discuss effects and pedals!By all means get an op amp big muff, absolutely brilliant for heavier shoegaze. The boss hm-2 or hm-2w is also great for shoegaze, those are the best shoegaze distortion pedals in my opinion. For shoegazey modulation, I’d recommend using a dimension chorus like the boss dc-2w, or the tc 3rd dimension for a budget option. Then focus your pedals around that amp. Generally you'll want good overdrive, volume boost, and delay pedals such as the Tube Screamer, Zvex 2 in 1, and the EHX Memory Man. 1. reddit40k • 10 yr. ago. With some compressors you lose this very direct articulate feel, I should have probably tried one with a blend control to retain the attack more. I'm looking for a pedal that can make my electric cello sound an octave lower than it sounds naturally. Ehx freeze or Mood are good for creating pads underneath. Mood also has delay, reverb and a slip mode which are great. Boss sy1 or sy200 are great for synth sounds and pads too with its hold option. A volume pedal make swells a lot easier than using your volume knob. A compressor can help with sustain on notes.

I’ve owned several boss, ehx and MXR sub octave pedal. The pog will track better, but sound kind of synth-y, the boss didn’t track well at all imo and the MXR have decent tracking and sound very natural and analog. The newer MXRs don’t sound nearly as good or track as well as the early 2000’s sub octave I found on eBay.

A thing I want you to try is to put the reverb and delay in the amp's FX loop. This ensures your time based effects are after the amp's gain stages AND the amp's chorus.
