The crank sensor signal comes from an externally mounted 24x reluctor and hub combo. A cap and rotor should be replaced every 40,000 miles. An opti that has been installed properly will last twice that long. I have always said, replacing an opti, or doing a cap and rotor on one is no more trouble than replacing a timing belt on a Toyota or a Honda. Like. D.
The one log i looked at the one cylinder had over 5 thousand history misfires i would start there. Its very odd. The main changes in the tune are correct. Bad coil, p0336, crank relearn. I have an lt1 with a torqhead 24x conversion. I had a coil go bad on me (at least i believe considering I got no spark from it). My memory is foggy but I got the p0336 code also.
